Sharon Kernot writes fiction and poetry. She is the author of three novels including two YA verse novels, The Art of Taxidermy and Birdy. Her poems and short stories have been published widely in Australia and abroad. Her verse novels, published by Text, have been hugely successful and have been nominated for many awards including the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards, the CBCA Book of the Year, the Gold Inkys, the NSW literary Awards, and the Readings YA Prize.
Her latest novel, Nightswimming - a psychological thriller in verse aimed at an adult audience - will be published by Text in 2026.
