Bethany Clark is a writer and editor who after many years working behind the scenes in the publishing industry found herself as the chief manager of snacks for a small child. Her subsequent picture books published by Affirm Press explore the joys and challenges of child development and emotional intelligence for small children. You've Got Yoghurt In Your Nostrils, is a joyous celebration of the glorious mess babies create when they learn to eat an aims to normalise this important stage of brain development. Her newly-released picture book Little Love List shines a light on the unconditional love we have for our children, no matter how fun or tricky they can be. She has taught creative workshops for children and adults on writing and the publishing industry here and internationally and is part of the leadership committee of the Children’s Book Council of Australia SA Branch.

Bethany has a long-held passion for promoting a love of reading and good stories, particularly those of Australian creators. She was the program manager for Writers SA, an editor at Wakefield Press, and as a strategic communications consultant she has delivered programs and projects for a number of high-profile national reading initiatives including the Australian Children’s Laureate, the National Year of Reading, Love2Read, the Reading Hour, the Big & Little Book Clubs, Books Alive and the Australia Council for the Art’s Get Reading! Program. She has worked with a wide array of writers, arts organisations, libraries, publishing houses and the odd high profile football team.

Bethany lives in Adelaide with her husband and son, where she can still be found creating books in between catering continuous picnics and endless degustation menus for a gaggle of small folk.
