Sally is an award winning playwright and theatre maker for children and young adult audiences, and is the South Australian Chair of the Australian Writers Guild. She has worked with the likes of Patch Theatre Company, Brink Productions, Ink Pot Arts and the True North Youth Theatre Ensemble, and is director of her own company Free Range Theatrix. Sally’s plays have featured in the DreamBIG Children’s Festival, Come Out Children’s Festival, the World Festival of Children’s Theatre, and the Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe Festivals, and her work as a Dramaturge has featured in the 2018 Adelaide Festival and Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Her first children’s book ‘Teddy-grams for Campbell’ was published in 2014.

As a teaching artist, Sally has more than a decade’s experience working with young people from pre-school age through to University level.  She is uniquely placed not only to present workshops and talks about her own work as a writer, but also to use drama-based techniques to deconstruct, interrogate and bring to life the stories, worlds and characters of other writers' books...a novel way to celebrate Book Week, or to delve further into children’s literature!
