Paul Rutter is a South Australian children’s book author, illustrator and has completed a Master of Arts degree in Animation. He delivers exciting drawing and animation workshops for students throughout Junior to Upper Primary and Middle School years. He shows students how to draw and develop characters or themes linked to the Australian Curriculum such as Mini-beasts, Megafauna, Endangered Species, Ocean Creatures and many more. Elements of drawing such as line, shape, form and texture are developed as well as introductory animation skills.
Paul has published a series of activity books on his workshop themes, which are provided to students as part of their drawing class. He has also self-published a children’s picture book ‘Surf Rider Joe,’ a story about an ocean environmental surfing crusader, who embarks on a journey to discover a mysterious creepy, stinky, slimy, sludge oozing into Sea Turtle Bay, clouding its crystal waters and making his sea creature friends sick. After working together with his ocean friends to stop the gooey gunk from entering the sea, he heads inland to help people resolve a stinky sewage problem, in a sustainable way towards a cleaner thriving ocean environment.
