Allayne L. Webster is an award-winning South Australian Children’s and Young Adult Author. A multiple arts grants winner, she also sings and plays guitar, and sometimes she illustrates.


Published in Australia, Sweden and Russia, Allayne’s novels have been listed multiple times in many awards, including the CBCA Children’s Book Council of Australia, the Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature, the NSW Premier’s Awards, the Golden Inkys, the Davitt Awards, Australian Speech Pathology Awards, and the Australian Children’s Peace Literature Awards. Her novel Sensitive won the 2023 IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) Outstanding Book for Young People with Disabilities. That Thing I Did (YA, Wakefield Press, March 2022) received glowing praise in the Australian Book Review, and Selfie (YA, Text Publishing, 2023) was shortlisted in the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. Maisy Hayes is Not For Sale (YA, Text Publishing, Sept 2025) was shortlisted for the 2024 Max Fatchen Fellowship.
